Tourism Toronto releases World Pride video

Tourism Toronto, in collaboration with production firm Crucial Pictures, has released a promotional video called "What Pride Means to Us," tied to the World Pride event currently taking place in the city. The documentary-style three-minute video highlights the festival and Toronto's role in it. This is the first time the event has taken place in North America. The video features interviews with various participants, including actress Laverne Cox, Justice Harvey Brownstone, Toronto city councilor Kyle Rae, couples who were married at Toronto Pride, event organizers and others. The video has been posted on YouTube and Facebook, and will be shown at various venues as the festival continues until June 29.

"We set out to inspire North American travelers and celebrators of World Pride, and we feel Crucial Pictures found a sharp, inspirational way to capture that emotion," said Joel Peters, senior vice-president and chief marketing officer at Tourism Toronto. "The passion around the event is reflected in the video and represents the emotion and importance of this occasion."
