McDonald's conducts interactive promotion in Toronto

McDonald's Canada is conducting an out-of-home campaign at a Toronto shopping mall promoting its French fries. The initiative, developed by Cossette of Toronto, is taking place at Dufferin Mall. Digital display boards in the mall invite consumers to use a smartphone to play an interactive game for a chance to win a free medium order of fries. By swiping the phone screens, a player can make fries move from the ad to the phone. Players who can fill the fry box on their phone in under 10 seconds receive a limited-time digital coupon for free fries that can be redeemed at either of the two McDonald's locations in the mall. The campaign will run until June 18.
"We wanted to create a completely new way to engage with our guests," said David Ford, regional communication manager at McDonald's Canada. "People love our fries and they love to share them, so what better way to experience our brand than sharing a fun gaming experience to win free fries?"
