Metro begins food truck promotion

Montreal-based grocery store chain Metro has resumed a promotion called the "Grande Grande Tablée." During the summer-long initiative, a branded food truck will visit 10 festivals in Quebec, including the Festivoix de Trois-Rivières, the Festival de la gibelotte de Sorel, the Festival du cochon de Sainte-Perpétue and the Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau. The truck will distribute products made in Quebec. At each event, the truck will be accompanied by a bistro section offering games, animation, a rest area and product sampling. Consumers will also receive a mason jar containing a recipe and coupons for the necessary ingredients. The tour will be supported with social media activities.
"For our merchants, the Grande Grande Tablée Metro is an opportunity to invite people in their community to come celebrate at their table, by supporting an event that highlights their region," said Marc Giroux, vice-president of marketing at Metro. "Our merchants also want to reiterate their support for the suppliers in their area and remind everyone that they are committed to the communities that they serve."
