Ichannel launches transgender website

Ichannel of Toronto has launched a new website called The Transgender Project. The site, located at <http://trans.ichannel.ca>, will focus on discrimination against transgender Canadians. Its content will consist of a series of videos following the personal stories of 13 individuals. Three have been posted at launch, with additional videos to be released weekly through the summer. Other content will include photo essays and information resources. The initiative will also develop a documentary about transgender discrimination in Canada that will air nationally on Ichannel in the fall. The Transgender Project was produced with support from the Canada Media Fund.
"It's a privilege to be able to share these powerful stories of strength, courage and determination that will resonate with anyone trying to lead an authentic life," said senior producer Kevin O'Keefe. "While these stories don't shy away from the challenges many trans Canadians face, we also celebrate the amazing resilience they have to simply be themselves."
