Accommodation booking website Hotels.com has begun a new television campaign in the US and Canada. The campaign, called "The Obvious Choice," was developed by Crispin Porter & Bogusky of Boulder, CO. It features a spokescharacter called Captain Obvious, who explains the ways in which Hotels.com is the best way to book hotel stays on the Internet. The character will also appear in online, cinema and radio ads, as well as in online videos, social media activities and email marketing materials. An out-of-home element will run in Toronto in April. In Canada, media planning for the campaign was handled by TargetCast, while buying was conducted by Havas Media. According to the company, this is the biggest creative initiative in its history.
