Visa Canada debuts new Financial Soccer game
By Adnews Staff
Visa Canada of Toronto has launched a new edition of an online promotional video game called Financial Soccer. The game is intended to test a player's knowledge of the Canadian financial system. It also covers topics such as budgeting and saving in a soccer-themed environment. The new version of the game includes updated questions in English and French, as well as improved graphics. It is located at <http://www.financialsoccer.ca>. Canada is the second country, following China, in which Visa has launched a localized version of the new game. It will roll-out in other international markets during the lead-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.
"Visa has been committed to promoting financial literacy for more than a decade," said Carla Hindman, director of financial education at Visa Canada. "Financial Soccer is a fun and dynamic resource to help Canadians learn the fundamentals of money management."
Visa Canada promoted the launch of the game last week with a special event featuring Olympic athlete Karina LeBlanc. The event took the form of a live Financial Soccer match for local high school students in downtown Toronto. It was conducted in association with the Junior Economic Club.
