LoyaltyOne launches Air Miles for Business
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based LoyaltyOne has introduced a new extention to its Air Miles loyalty program called Air Miles for Business. The program is aimed at the approximately 800,000 members of Air Miles who are small business owners. It takes the form of a website at <http://www.airmiles.ca/business>, at which participants can redeem loyalty points for merchandise, events and travel intended to appeal to small business owners.
To coincide with the introduction of the program, American Express Canada has launched a new American Express Air Miles for Business credit card. Users of the card will receive a 25% discount when redeeming points for items from the Air Miles for Business catalog.
In addition, Air Miles is launching a new national initiative called the Small Business Achievement Awards in association with Profit magazine. The awards are intended to recognize Canadian small business success. Nominations in five categories will open this month. Categories will include Small Business of the Year, Startup of the Year, Innovation of the Year, Social Impact and Youth Entrepreneur of the Year.
"We want Canadian small business owners to get value out of the program like never before and have the opportunity to reward themselves, their businesses and their employees," said Rachel MacQueen, associate vice-president of collector strategy, for the Air Miles Reward Program. "Equally important, Air Miles wants to recognize the outstanding contribution of entrepreneurs through the launch of the Air Miles Small Business Achievement Awards, which will give the deserving winners mentorship from some of the best business minds in the country."
