Tim Hortons begins Duelling Donuts promotion

Tim Hortons has begun a contest promotion called "Duelling Donuts." Until July 21, consumers can enter by submitting a proposed new donut flavour using an online tool at <http://www.duellingdonuts.ca>. Eight finalists will be selected by a judging panel including actor Jason Priestly. Public voting will determine the winner, who will receive $10,000. In addition, the winning donut may be added to the Tim Hortons menu. Other finalists will receive Tim Hortons gift cards of various denominations. The contest is being supported with social media activities. "Our guests are passionate about our donuts, and often share with us new flavour ideas," said Donna Finelli, vice-president of marketing, food and merchandise at Tim Hortons. "Duelling Donuts is exciting because it marks a milestone in our history. Our guests are going to surprise us with what could inspire our next donut to be added to the Tim Hortons menu, and we're really looking forward to seeing what the favourite will be."
