Subway conducts Facebook contest

Toronto-based sandwich chain Subway Restaurants of Canada has begun a contest promotion tied to its one millionth "like" on Facebook. The winner of the Facebook-based contest will receive $2,400 in Subway gift cards, which is, according to the company, enough to buy one sandwich each day for a year. "To thank Canadians from coast-to-coast for their continued support and engagement, we're launching a special contest that's never been done at Subway in Canada,” said Kathleen Bell, the company's director of national. "Facebook is an excellent platform to have a two-way dialogue with our customers and better understand what they want, as well as getting our messages out to them." Subway Canada's Facebook page is managed by Veritas Communications.
