New chief commercial officer at GroupM Canada

New York-based GroupM has appointed Stuart Garvie to the newly-created position of chief commercial officer at GroupM Canada. He will be based in Toronto and will work to support the expansion of the company's activities in this country. He will take up the position on May 1. Garvie was previously a deputy global trading director at Maxus. Prior to that, he was media purchasing manager in the UK and Ireland for Danone. He has also worked at Reckitt Benckiser, Manning Gottlieb OMD, IDK and Optimedia. Group M is the parent company of WPP media agencies media agencies Maxus, MEC, MediaCom and Mindshare.
