Staples Canada conducts school contest
By Adnews Staff
Office supply company Staples Canada has begun a promotion called the "Recycle for Education Computer Lab Contest" in association with Earth Day Canada. The company will donate ten computer labs worth $25,000 each to elementary and secondary schools nationally. In addition, Staples will donate $25 to Earth Day Canada for each school that enters the contest. To enter, one student from a public school must submit a principal-approved 500-word essay on how their school has become environmentally responsible. Essays can be submitted online through the brand's Facebook page or at <http://www.staples.ca/recycleforeducation>. A judging panel will select the winners, which will be announced in April. "We live in a tech-driven society and students in elementary and secondary public schools spend nearly six hours in computer labs every week," said Steve Matyas, president of Staples Canada. "Having the latest technology in schools has never been more important, and we're very proud to bring back this popular contest."
