Koodo Mobile conducts holiday campaign

Mobile communications company Koodo Mobile has begun a holiday season promotion called "A Merry Mariachi Holiday." The promotion includes a downloadable album of holiday songs performed by the brand's spokescharacter El Tabador. For each download of the album from or the brand's Facebook page, the company will make a donation to Food Banks Canada. Visitors to the page can also send personalized carols to friends or use them as ringtones. Additional campaign elements include a television bug, out-of-home advertising and promotional workers dressed as elves performing the songs at media outlets. The campaign was developed by Taxi2. Public and media relations are being conducted by Strategic Objectives. "We developed a layered approach to get the word out about this album, including an execution that is the first of its kind in Canada where Torontonians will be able to 'plug-in' to a special transit shelter at Yonge-Dundas to listen to the carols," said Jeff MacEachern, creative director at Taxi2.
