HGTV Canada updates branding

Specialty television channel HGTV Canada has introduced a new on-air visual style and a new website at <>. According to the channel, the new look is intended to reinforce its efforts to expand its appeal and highlight its new slate of character-driven content. On-air changes include new graphics, colours and fonts, as well as new promos, a new logo and new music. "The new on-air package appeals to more viewers and gives HGTV Canada a modern and confident look," said Muriel Solomon, senior director of specialty marketing at Shaw Media. "The brand refresh not only reflects the wider breadth of programming on HGTV, but also emphasizes its position as a top entertainment channel." The new website includes photo galleries, pages for each show, streaming video and a new "Find A Pro" section, as well as simplified navigation and social media integration. The on-air materials were developed by Shaw Media in association with Tendril Design & Animation. The new website was developed in-house.
