Rogers Media promotes Hinnen

Rogers Media of Toronto has appointed John Hinnen to the newly-created position of vice-president of news for Rogers Media Television and Radio. He will oversee the direction of all Rogers Media television and radio news brands nationally. Hinnen was previously vice-president of news for Rogers Radio and vice-president and general manager of radio station 680News. He will continue to oversee 680News as well as news content for the 55 Rogers Radio stations. He will now also oversee CityNews and the CityNews Channel. Hinnen also been vice-president of news at CHFI, news and sports director at CFTR and chairman of the Rogers Multimedia Content Committee. He joined Rogers Media in 1974 as a sports announcer for CFTR.
