Raising the Roof begins Street House promotion
By Adnews Staff
National homelessness charity Raising the Roof will conduct a promotion in Toronto this weekend called "The Street House." The initiative is timed to coincide with the annual Doors Open Toronto event, during which various normally private buildings are open to the public. The promotion, developed pro bono by Leo Burnett of Toronto, encourages people engaging in this kind of sightseeing to also examine the living conditions of the homeless. From May 25 to 26, residents can visit a structure fabricated from cardboard in a downtown Toronto alleyway. The rooms of the installation convey information about homelessness and, according to the organization, address misconceptions Canadians may have about its causes.
