WPP Group of New York has expanded its audience-buying company Xaxis into Canada. The agency has opened a new office in Toronto, headed by Rodney Perry, previously vice-president of the Canadian Circulations Audit Board. The agency will specialize in audience planning and buying for the Canadian market, particularly digital display, mobile, social and video advertising. "Canada is a key market for many of our clients and we are pleased to add the country to our global services portfolio," said Brian Lesser, CEO of Xaxis. "With over 30 clients currently working with us in Canada, creating this dedicated local presence will enable us to more fully support them and drive their campaigns even further. Rodney has a phenomenal track record of delivering outsized returns for some of the world's largest advertisers and we believe he is the right person to lead our Canadian operations."
