LCBO conducts Beer World promotion

The Toronto-based LCBO has begun a summer promotion called "Beer World. Start the Adventure." The four-week promotion will run in the board's 617 stores in Ontario until Aug. 13. It will primarily promote single cans and bottles of 340 beers from 42 countries. Customers will be able to meet various brew masters and sample a range of beers at in-store events. The initiative also includes a website at <http://www.lcbobeer.com> which contains information on featured products, a beer selector, daily recommendations and food recipes. "From Ontario craft beers to the world's most popular and unique brands, from single cans to mixed sampler packs, the LCBO is the beer headquarters for summer entertaining," said Bob Downey, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at the LCBO. "Our single-serve cans and bottles are particularly popular as customers can mix and match and try different beers before buying a full pack. With so many styles to choose from, the Beer World promotion is the perfect opportunity to try something new."
