AOL Canada has launched a Canadian version of news and opinion website The Huffington Post at <http://www.huffingtonpost.ca>. The site features original reporting, content aggregation, a discussion forum, social engagement tools and various blogs. Brad Cressman has been appointed head of content for the site. Kenny Yum, a former editor at the Globeandmail.com, has been hired as managing editor of The Huffington Post Canada and all other AOL Canada properties. Brodie Fenlon, also from the Globeandmail.com, has been hired as senior news editor. Heather Reisman, chief executive of Indigo Books and Music, has been appointed editor-at-large. "The Huffington Post pioneered a new way for people to connect with news of the day and with each other, so we're excited to bring this unique platform to the already strong Canadian following as well as to the nearly 10 million Canadians that visit AOL Canada sites each month," said Graham Moysey, general manager of AOL Canada. "HuffPost Canada is a launching pad for fascinating dialogues around all the issues Canadians are passionate about." Scotiabank has signed-on as the first advertiser on the site.
