National campaign for Tim Tam cookies begins

Australian cookie company Arnott's Biscuits will begin a national consumer promotion in Canada for its Tim Tam brand of cookies on Feb. 1. The national campaign will be accompanied by a regional sampling program during which promotional workers will distribute product information and coupons in Toronto and Montreal. Canadian distributor Concord Sales has also begun an online contest at <>. Visitors to the site who match the phrase "TimTamSlam" can win daily prizes and will be entered into a draw for a weekend spa trip. The contest is being supported with a Facebook ad campaign and point-of-sale materials. "Consumers are very active in social media and we want to engage them where they spend most of their leisure time," said Tina Ryan of Concord Sales. "We want consumers to have fun with Tim Tam Slam at their next office coffee break, or any time they feel the need for a special indulgent treat in their day." The eight-week program was developed by OptiCom InterActive.
