Allard Johnson adds digital division

Allard Johnson is preparing to launch a new digital division called BabyRobot in Toronto. The division will offer services including strategy, design, development, mobile applications, augmented reality, digital point of sale, interactive digital displays and experiential marketing. The division will be headed by Cameron Wykes, previously executive digital creative director at Zig. Both agencies are part of MDC Partners. He has also been the interactive creative director at DDB and creative director at Sympatico.ca. He also founded the digital agencies Mighty, bought by Bensimon Byrne in 2004, and Push, which was merged into Zig in 2008. "This is an amazing opportunity to create a digital company of the future," said Wykes. "Our belief is that clients can no longer rely on flat destination web sites. Digital engagement services essentially reach beyond the web, offering brand engagement experiences that are more relevant to the consumer. It is our belief that this location based experience will replace what we say today."
