Spoke opens in Toronto

A new digital agency called Spoke has opened in Toronto. The agency is headed by CEO Jeff Greenspoon and COO Kai Exos. They were previously an account director and creative director at Hooplah, respectively. Trung Hoang, editor-in-chief of Contra Magazine, has also joined the agency as creative vice-president, while Mark Healy of Torque Customer Strategy will lead an in-house research department. The firm's clients include Disney Consumer Products and Nestlé. "Brands are under so much pressure to create Facebook apps and mobile campaigns these days," said Greenspoon. "People sometimes use them just for the sake of using them as opposed to having a great idea and realizing which one fits it best. We're letting the idea drive what technologies and media platforms we choose."
