Nickelodeon channel to launch in Canada in November
Corus Entertainment of Toronto and MTV Networks International will launch a Nickelodeon channel in Canada on Nov. 2. The 24-hour channel will air live-action and animated children's programming. The agreement between the two companies includes exclusive television rights in Canada to all current Nickelodeon animated programming and live action series, as well as and all digital rights for Nickelodeon and related brands. "Nickelodeon joins Corus Entertainment's unmatched portfolio of kid-focused brands that offer Canadian children and their families a full range of entertaining options, with something for everyone, on a variety of platforms," said Paul Robertson, president of television at Corus.
