Asian Television Network readies nine new channels

Asian Television Network International of Toronto will launch nine new channels on Rogers Cable in the fall. Star One will carry Hindi entertainment programming. Star India Gold will air Indian films. Star News will specialize in Hindi news. Star Vijay will carry Tamil entertainment shows. Set Max will also air Bollywood movies. MH1 will carry Punjabi music and entertainment. Star Chinese Movies will specialize in contemporary films from China. Channel V Taiwan will air music videos and lifestyle programs. Star Chinese Channel will carry general programming in Mandarin. "These nine channels carry world class content that will attract large audiences among the South Asian diaspora and Chinese communities in Canada," said Shan Chandrasekar, president and CEO of ATN. The company currently operates 14 specialty television channels in Canada.
