Channel Zero of Toronto has agreed to purchase CHCH-TV in Hamilton and CJNT-TV in Montreal from Canwest. According to Channel Zero, both stations will continue to operate with all their current employees. The company will alter their programming so that CHCH will broadcast news during the day and movies at night, while CJNT will air foreign movies and multicultural music videos. "By enhancing and energizing the format and focusing on what each station does best, we know that both stations will be national leaders in their format, will have huge appeal to their core audiences and will be very advertiser friendly," said Cal Millar, vice-president and general manager of Channel Zero.
