Orthomolecular Health begins national awareness campaign
By Adnews Staff
An organization called Orthomolecular Health has begun a campaign called "Help Yourself" intended to raise awareness of this form of alternative healthcare. The national campaign consists of television, radio, outdoor, magazine and newspaper advertising. The initiative also makes use of media relations and communications aimed at health professionals. The promotion includes a Help Yourself Day on Jan. 2, 2009. On that day, Canadians will be encouraged to post videos about their health goals through a YouTube.com channel. The campaign also includes a website at <http://www.helpyourselfcommunity.org>. "We want to challenge Canadians to take time to consider new possibilities, new ways of thinking about medicine and what's best for their health," said Steven Carter, director of Orthomolecular Health. "The message behind the campaign is about empowering yourself with knowledge, becoming involved and ultimately making the commitment to take responsibility for your own improved health. Orthomolecular medicine is being taken from a relatively unknown therapy to a mainstream topic of discussion in complementary health and consumer circles." The campaign was developed by Lift Communications with public and media relations support from Apex Public Relations.
