Ontario liquor retailer LCBO has begun an online promotion for French wine at the website <>. The site features a spokescharacter named Francois, a mime who has broken his vow of silence to describe his passion for French wine. The site was developed by GJP Advertising of Toronto. "This Web-based viral campaign was a tremendous opportunity for us to take old world wines into the future," said Lisa Greenberg, creative director at GJP. "We conceived, wrote and produced the videos and website in less than two weeks." The campaign also includes in-store materials and sampling programs in the Greater Toronto Area. The promotion will run until Nov. 8.
