Vancouver Olympics get new graphic identity
By Adnews Staff
The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has unveiled a new graphic identity intended to create a unified visual experience leading up to and during the 2010 Winter Games. The identity, which makes use of blue and green colours intended to represent the local environment, will be used on materials including banners, flags, wraps, netting, ticket design, wayfinding and signage. The committee also debuted 24 pictograms representing the events contested during the games. These were created by an in-house design staff in collaboration with I'm JAC Design. The identity also incorporates elements by Xwa lack tun, a Vancouver-based Aboriginal artist. The Vancouver2010.com website has also been redesigned to make use of the new graphics.
