Canwest readies MovieTime

Canwest Broadcasting will launch a new digital specialty channel on Oct. 6 called MovieTime. The channel, which is aimed at adults between the ages of 25 and 54, will air contemporary popular movies. The new channel takes the place of Lonestar, which specialized in westerns. "Lonestar was successful but when we tested the concept of MovieTime, it was such a winner that we decided to rebrand the entire channel," said Barb Williams, executive vice-president for content at Canwest Broadcasting. "That?s why we're confident that MovieTime will be successful in satisfying viewers' insatiable appetite for movies."
