Kia Canada resumes Summer Clearance campaign

Auto maker Kia Canada has resumed its "Summer Clearance" marketing campaign for a second year. The initiative, developed by Publicis Canada, consists of three 30-second television commercials, along with newspaper advertising, radio commercials, online advertising and point-of-sale materials. The creative features the sunflower characters who have previously appeared in Kia's summer advertising. The campaign uses the tagline, "The power to surprise." The national campaign broke on July 2 and will run until July 31. The campaign promotes the company's offer of zero percent financing for 72 months on various 2008 models. "We wanted to build on the success of last year's introduction of the sunflower characters, which have become iconic figures for the Kia brand," said Duncan Bruce, executive creative director at Publicis Canada. "We look forward to continued success this year by communicating Kia's offer with the zest for life that the automaker is known for."
