Nokia Canada begins fruitcake promotion

Nokia Canada has begun an online promotion at <http://www.nokia.ca/fruitcake>. The site contains five video clips intended to demonstrate why a mobile phone is a better gift than a fruitcake. Visitors to the site can also enter a weekly draw for one of the featured phones. The videos, which are intended to resemble amateur productions, were also posted on social networking site Facebook.com. The site is being promoted with mall posters, billboards and online ads in Toronto, Edmonton, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. In addition, Nokia will deliver "hundreds" of fruitcakes to customers and vendors, each bearing a sticker that reads, "Were you expecting a phone?" The campaign was developed by Ketchum. The website, videos and out-of-home layouts were created by Sapo Creative Studios.
