Kaboose buys Bounty Group

Toronto-based online media company Kaboose has signed an agreement to acquire Bounty Group, an online community for parents based in the United Kingdom. Kaboose will purchase 100 percent of Bounty for approximately $140 million. The primary users of the site are new and expectant mothers. The company generated revenues of $41.3 million in 2006. Bounty's management staff will continue in their current positions. "The acquisition of Bounty is the biggest and most exciting step we have made in our company's history," said Jason DeZwirek, chairman and CEO of Kaboose. "Bounty has an unparalleled market position in the UK and a fantastic recognizable brand with new and expecting families. The UK is Kaboose's second largest audience and the acquisition of Bounty will enable us to monetize our significant European online traffic."
