Ford begins cell phone campaign for Sync

Ford of Canada has begun a national campaign for its Sync in-car communication system. The campaign, which broke on Nov. 12, consists of posters in English and French in eight Canadian markets. When consumers pass within range of a poster, they will receive an alert on their cell phone. If the message is accepted, the consumer will receive a 20-second commercial for the service or a branded cell phone wallpaper image. The physical media is from Zoom Media, while the wireless component is being handled by Jambo Mobile Solutions. "This national Bluetooth campaign is the first of its kind in Canada and we are very excited about the overall potential," said Derek Colfer, vice-president of strategy at Jambo Mobile. "It is an innovative way to reach consumers."
