Blockbuster Canada retains DDB Canada

Toronto-based video rental chain Blockbuster Canada has appointed DDB Canada of Toronto its advertising agency of record. The agency won the account in a review involving 25 firms. “DDB has an outstanding track record of success in creativity and business results, all grounded in an impressive strategic platform and illuminated by amazing passion and energy,” said Kimberly Clark, vice-president of marketing at Blockbuster Canada. “They demonstrated a great understanding of our business and a willingness to deliver beyond our advertising needs.” The assignment will include television, print, radio and online marketing, as well as customer relationship management activities, intended to support the Blockbuster brand in Canada. Blockbuster operates 440 stores in 10 provinces.
