The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership conducted its second annual “Ontario Tourism Marketing Awards” last week. The awards recognize tourism industry professionals who have promoted Ontario regions, attractions or activities. The Art Gallery of Ontario received a gold award in the Best Tourism Advertising category for its campaign promoting the “Catherine The Great - Masterpieces from the State Hermitage Museum Russia” exhibit. This campaign also received an award for Best Interactive Marketing. The silver award in the Tourism Advertising category went to Ottawa Tourism for its “Surprising Contrasts” campaign, while the bronze award went to the Windsor, Essex County and Pelee Island Convention and Visitors' Bureau for its “This is the Life” campaign. Bruce County and Grey County received an award for Best Marketing Initiative under $25,000 for a campaign aimed at motorcycle enthusiasts called “Ride Grey Bruce.” Ontario's South Coast and Beyond received a Best Tourism Marketing Partnership award for its motorcoach tour catalogue. Hamilton Civic Museums received a Best Printed Collateral Material award for its “Learning Adventures” field trip planner for school groups.
