CanWest MediaWorks has redesigned its youth-oriented news website Dose.ca. The modifications include a new look and feel, along with changes to the navigation system. Other new features include a media player and RSS feeds. The focus of the site’s content has been shifted to put more emphasis on entertainment and celebrity news drawn from Canada.com and CanWest’s newspapers. “With its focus on celebrities, music and movies, Dose.ca meets the information and entertainment news needs of youth-minded individuals,” said Arturo Duran, interactive and business integration president at CanWest MediaWorks. The company is promoting the new site with a medical bracelet cover wrap of the September issue of Vice magazine. The marketing campaign also includes ads in movie theatres and bars nationally, as well as radio and print ads in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal. The campaign uses the tagline, “What didn’t kill us, made us stronger.” The company plans a series of new promotions related to celebrities and nightlife over the next few months. CanWest ceased publication the print version of Dose in May.
