Ben & Jerry’s begins environmental public awareness campaign

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream has begun a public awareness campaign in association with the Ontario Clean Air Alliance intended to encourage consumers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The campaign, called “Lick Global Warming,” consists of in-store materials and a contest. During the initiative, Ben & Jerry’s customers will be encouraged to sign a pledge to use less energy. The pledge can also be signed online at <http://www.lickglobalwarming.ca>. The goal of the campaign is to collect 25,000 signatures by the end of October. The company’s retail locations will also distribute brochures describing ways for people to reduce their environmental impact.
