By Adnews Staff
Thirty-two Toyota dealers in western Canada have begun an initiative called the “Toyota Never Quit Awards.” According to the participating dealers, the awards will recognize individuals who reach their goals against the odds. A group of promotional workers called the Toyota Never Quit Road Crew will visit a number of Toyota-sponsored events during the summer to solicit nominations. These events will include the Manitoba Marathon, Saskatoon Centennial Canada Day, Special Olympics Summer Games in Brandon, Alberta Summer Games in Red Deer, the Dragon Boat Festivals in Calgary and Regina, the Rugby World Cup in Edmonton and others. Nominations will also be gathered through a website at <http://www.toyotaneverquit.com>. The entries will be judged by a volunteer panel. Two winner will be selected; one for contributions to a community and one for individual tenacity in working toward a goal. Each winner will receive $5,000. In addition, Toyota will make a $2,500 donation to a non-profit organization of each winner’s choice. The winners will be announced in October. “The awards are Toyota’s way of identifying and celebrating those who have helped build a solid foundation for our country and our communities,” said Ron Ball, president of the Toyota Dealer Advertising Association. “These are people who are dedicated to improving themselves and their community.” The Prairie Zone of the Toyota Dealers Advertising Association represents 32 dealers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, western Ontario and eastern British Columbia.
