HarperCollinsCanada readies promotional podcasts
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based book publisher HarperCollinsCanada is preparing a podcast program to promote six new titles from the summer and fall seasons. The fortnightly podcasts, which are being produced in association with the Foursevens Podcast Network, will consist of interviews with the authors of these books, including Gautam Malkani, author of Londonstani, Jon Evans, author of Invisible Armies, Sara Gruen, author of Water for Elephants, Lydia Millet, author of Oh, Pure and Radiant Heart, Dennis Bock, author of The Communist's Daughter and Rebecca Godfrey, author of Under the Bridge. The program is a follow-up to the company’s recent use of Flash-based online trailers for books. “We have broken exciting new ground in online marketing with our well-received book trailer series and are delighted to be launching this podcast program,” said Steve Osgoode, director of online marketing and new media at HarperCollinsCanada. “The FourSevens network and personalities are a great fit for our audience.” The podcast promotion is being coordinated by Sequentia Communications, digital marketing agency of record for HarperCollinsCanada. The “HC Prosecast” episodes will begin in mid-July at <http://www.canadapodcasts.ca>.
