Transcontinental Media readies Canadian Smart Living magazine
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Transcontinental Media will debut a new magazine called Canadian Smart Living this fall. The publication will cover the relationship between technology and lifestyle. It will be distributed as an add-in in approximately 200,000 subscriber and newsstand issues of other Transcontinental magazines, particularly those with readers most inclined to buy consumer electronics. The magazine will be produced by Transcontinental’s IT Business Group. “Women are spending more money in the consumer electronics market,” said IT Business Group publisher Joe Tersigni. “Research shows they’re involved in 83 percent of CE purchasing decisions. Retailers are recognizing that, making the store environments more female-friendly. Manufacturers are developing products that serve style as well as function. It’s time for a CE magazine that focuses less on gear-lust and more on the power of technology to transform your lifestyle.” The premier issue will be released in early August. The second issue will be released in November.
