The Toronto-based Radio Marketing Bureau distributed its annual Crystal awards this week, recognizing the best in Canadian radio creative. Twenty-five awards were handed out in nine categories. The "Best in Show" award went to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra for a three-ad campaign produced by Pirate Radio & Television. This campaign also received the gold award in the "Agency Campaign" category and the gold "Agency Single" award for the ad "Boring Maurice." The "Station Campaign" gold award went to Kelowna Self Storage for a five-ad campaign produced by Standard Radio of Kelowna, BC. The "Station Single" gold was awarded to Durex for an ad called "Give It Up For the Condom," produced by Corus Radio of Toronto.
