EATON'S CANCELS FALL CATALOGUE PUBLISHING

An article in yesterday's Financial Post reports Toronto-based T. Eaton Company Ltd. has canceled two major fall fashion catalogues. According to the article, Karen Goulet, spokeswoman for the retailer, confirmed that the department store chain of 64 stores, will not publish two premier fall catalogues: the glossy Preview magazine and its New and Blue denim book both of which were launched last fall. The canceling of the catalogue publishing, according to the article, is a way for Eaton's to cut costs. Goulet also reported the company is not confirming upcoming back-to-school marketing and advertising plans because those plans are under review as the "retailer looks for ways to cut costs."
