CMA PRESENTS RSVP AWARDS

The Canadian Marketing Association presented its RSVP awards last week. The awards recognize the year's top campaign in 20 categories. Entries are judged on the basis of bottom-line results, concept, copy, design, production and overall presentation. Grey Direct of Toronto walked away the big winner with three gold awards for work it did for Sprint Canada. Allard & Associates of Montreal won two gold awards for work it created for World Vision Canada in collaboration with The Russ Reid Company. Other gold winners were: OgilvyOne Worldwide, DuPont Canada and Cantel AT&T; The Loyalty Group/Spindrift Design Services/Apache Superior Printing/Global Direct Marketing, Canada Safeway Ltd.; Direct Marketing Strategies and Marketel, La Confederation des caisse populaires d'economie Desjardins du Quebec; MacLaren McCann Direct, the Royal Bank Financial Group; Interactive Marketing Concepts, Dietitians of Canada and Cossette Communication-Marketing/Direct Results Marketing, Tourism British Columbia. Herbert A. Watts chairman and CEO Rip Gauthier was named Marketer of the Year for his contribution to the marketing community. Stephen Thomas Associates was presented with the Director's Choice Award for the contribution the organization has made in the area of fundraising. The new Supplier Award was given to Jones Direct Marketing Services and the Student RSVP Award was won by a Mohawk College team: Cecilia DeGuzman, Teresa Voordouw and Craig Jennings.
