FIDO HEADS WEST

Montreal-based Microcell Solutions will bring its personal communication services to the Vancouver market later this week. Called Fido, the service offers call display, personal voice messaging, fax and text messaging. PCS is less powerful than regular cellular phones, but are also lighter and cheaper. Advertising for Fido will use TV, daily newspapers and radio created by BOS of Montreal. In addition, Microcell will fly its Fido airship to the city. It stands about five stories tall and stretches almost half the length of a football field. Microcell initially launched its PCS service in Montreal late last year, and in Toronto last month.
