Canadian Safe Boating Council readies campaign

The Canadian Safe Boating Council of Toronto will conduct a national promotion from May 22 to 28 called “Safe Boating Awareness Week.” It is intended to promote safe and responsible boating practices, such as wearing a lifejacket, being sober, being prepared, taking a boating course and being aware of the risk of cold water. The online campaign features a website at <http://www.sbaw.ca>, a series of videos, as well as downloadable materials and social media activities.

“From powerboats, to sailboats, to paddle craft, we know Canada's waterways will be busy,” said Stephanie Rankine of the Canadian Safe Boating Council. “It's important for Canadian boaters to know the rules of the road, who has the right of way, and how to be self-sufficient with the right equipment aboard in case something should happen.”
