Reel Start conducts Give New Voices a Voice campaign

Non-profit filmmaking educational program Reel Start has begun a campaign called “Give New Voices a Voice” intended to encourage diversity among young filmmakers. Developed by Fuse Create of Toronto, the campaign consists of 60- and 30-second online videos featuring Reel Start co-founder and filmmaker Evan Goldberg, as well as an execution featuring students of the program. These elements are being supported with social media activities, including posts of the videos by participating actors.

“Our students have grown up only a few miles from studios and production houses, yet a career in film and television can feel a universe away,” said Goldberg. “We want to change that by equipping them with the skillset, experience, and creative spark that will open their world to the hundreds of jobs and careers that exist right in their backyard, careers that are in need of their valuable and diverse perspectives.”
