Syal joins Financial Consumer Agency of Canada

The Ottawa-based Financial Consumer Agency of Canada has appointed Supriya Syal to the position of deputy commissioner of research, policy and education. The agency works to improve the financial literacy of Canadians and promote the compliance of federally regulated financial entities. Syal will begin work on Sept. 28. She was previously chief science advisor to the Treasury Board Secretariat Talent Cloud. Prior to that, she was the chief behavioural scientist at the Privy Council Office Innovation Hub. Syal was also vice-president of research and innovation at BEworks, as well as founder and president of Dulcimer Labs.
