Quebecor debuts Pause Ad format

Quebecor of Montreal has launched a new advertising format called “Pause Ad” on its TVA.ca website. The format is activated when a viewer pauses an online video. According to the company, TVA.ca displays 2.7 million videos per month to an audience of approximately 1.9 viewers per month.
“Pause Ad is a terrific tool for reaching an engaged audience,” said Renaud Langlois, director of digital operations at Quebecor. “When people pause a video, it means they’re watching, so advertisers can be sure their ads will be seen by engaged viewers. In our first tests, our internal KPIs for measuring engagement yielded results beyond our expectations. Pause Ad also lets advertisers improve campaign performance by producing creatives that take into account the video environment in which the ad will appear and appeal to consumers in a more targeted way.”
