Pvblic Foundation begins international pandemic promotion

An international group of advertising and out-of-home media companies have begun an initiative intended to support public health messages from the World Health Organization regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign will be conducted by participating media companies in seven languages and seven countries, including Canada. The effort is being headed by Pvblic Foundation of New York in collaboration with Mediakeys Group and 21 additional participating firms. It will promote a recently-launch WHO service that provides health information via social media services WhatsApp and Facebook.

“Thanks to a network of amazing advertising industry leaders, the World Health Organization's COVID-19 Health Alert is now being reinforced to people around the world, through online and out-of-home digital media, preventing misinformation about the disease,” said Sergio Fernandez de Cordova, chairman of Pvblic Foundation. “The collective spans Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Italy, the UK, and the USA, making this one of the most effective pandemic communication strategies, with the potential to reach two billion people, enabling WHO to get information directly into the hands of the people that need it via WhatsApp.”

Participating firm include: US-based Kre8 Media, Curb Taxi Media, JCDecaux North America, Spotify and The Wall Street Journal; Argentina-based Latam Networks, Grupo Via Sa, PC Vía Pública, Brand Plus, Delfino Magnus and TopView; Brazil-based WFerrari, Hezagono Brasil, Ledwave, JCDecaux Brasil, Eletromidia and Elemidia; IMU of Mexico; Astral of Canada; VG Pubblicità SRL of Italy; and Ocean Outdoor of the UK.
