Centre for ADHD Awareness begins awareness campaign

The Centre for ADHD Awareness Canada has releases a series of online videos called “Me and My ADHD.” The animated videos are intended to educate children about the condition and are voiced by children with ADHD. The three children will also participate in a live event on Oct. 19 at the organization’s ADHD Conference in Toronto. The promotion is timed to coincide with ADHD Awareness Month. It also includes social media activities and a website at <http://www.adhdspeaks.ca>.

“While kids with ADHD need to understand and use some medical terminology to advocate for themselves too much can just be scary and confusing,” said Heidi Bernhardt, president of the centre. “That's when we came up with the premise of Sam explaining ADHD to his best friend Tommy, one kid talking to another.”
