Canadian Women in Public Relations readies Toronto chapter

Industry organization Canadian Women in Public Relations will open a Toronto chapter in April. The organization is intended to enable women working in public relations to exchange ideas, contacts and experiences, and to act as an advocate for issues affecting women the PR industry. The group plans to open additional chapters in Canada and the US in the future, offering online courses, resources, case studies and networking opportunities.
"The expansion of our organization across Canada marks an important milestone in our efforts to educate women in public relations and to help them advance in the field across North America," said Talia Beckett Davis, chairwoman and president of the organization. "One of our main goals when forming this organization was to provide a place for women to thrive earlier in their careers and to strengthen the capabilities of established leaders in the PR industry."
